We hereby introduce our founder Mr. Masanori Takayama with his 75 years of great steps, who started TCS with 6 other employees Seven members and nurtured it up to a unique and multilateral companies’ group.

Masanori Takayama was born on February 4th, 1943 in Haranogo, Fujimi-mura, Seta-gun, (currently named Fujimi-cho, Maebashi city) in Gunma prefecture. Fujimi-mura originally was a farming village on the southern foot of Mt. Akagi, being famous for production of rice, wheat and various kinds of vegetables, as well as thrived in silkworm raising. The Takayama family had been originally engaged in agriculture for generations in Haranogo area. From the Edo period to the Meiji era, Banroku Takayama, the family head at that time, ran a temple school to educate local children.
Masanori Takayama went through his juvenile period under the post-war turmoil and reconstruction. He aspired to be an entrepreneur since his childhood and loved reading especially biographies of businesspeople. After graduation from Maebashi Highschool, he entered Waseda University, then started his Tokyo life as an entrepreneurially-minded student.

He founded Tokyo Computer Service Co., Ltd. (currently TCS Holdings Co., Ltd.) in 1971 with just Seven members. Since the day 1 in such dawn period of the IT industry, he had been devoted himself to expand software developing businesses, which leads to build up a unique software corporation group, having deep network, capable of developing software across all the related fields.

He focused on ‘diversification’ of the businesses from 1999 period, then multiplied its coverage in various fields, such as electronic equipment manufacturing, chemical trading, civil engineering for plants construction etc. by enlisting the companies from various industries through strategic M&A.
His passion for business creation never withered even in his seventies and headed as the top management until the last day of his 75 years life up to May 2018. "My life has no reverse gears", one of his topical phrases well explains how much he enthusiastically made his steps without looking back the past. His whole way of steps, ascertaining what the business would be in due course and guiding us accordingly, is the history of the TCS group itself.
